A CHANGE OF PLANS DUE TO FRANKENSTORM

We hope you have all received the hurricane survival packages our volunteers have been delivering the past two days. Due to Hurricane Sandy we are changing the venue of our halloween event tomorrow. At 9:00 A.M the indoor festivities will begin at the Shalam house in Allenhurst. Creative crafts as well as our costume contest will be exciting highlights! Please be aware that all children will be dropped off at their homes by noon, so the effects of the storm will not disturb our fun! We will b...

October Madness

We are very proud of our 4 year old BHO 
group this week who all recited, individually, the Pledge of Allegiance to our 
extra large American Flag. Kitty Guzman was the first 4 year old to memorize the 
pledge of allegiance so she won the prize to take home our beautiful flag the 
children decorated. We are so proud of our BHO youngsters this week! Don't 
forget this Sunday morning Maurice and Gerry Shalam will be meeting all the BHO 
students and our volunteers at the Allenhurst park to read...

BHO Halloween

Today from 2:00-5:00 and Sunday 12:00-5:00 BHO volunteers will be sewing and creating costumes for the BHO Halloween event coming up. Please bring all your creative ideas and supplies to this fun and exciting hands on weekend workshop! Please contact Maurice to coordinate your schedules while Haley Shalam will be on board both days teaching the BHO children this month's dance routine for the Holloween BHO event!

Birthday Excitement

This wednesday, October 3rd, is Maria Lopez's birthday! Ms. Lopez has been an instrumental parent for the BHO program and the children couldn't wait to show their appreciation! They worked all day Sunday making decorations for a surprise party! Working together with volunteers, the children baked a delicious cake and rice crispy treats for Maria! The surprise party was today, and Maria was shocked! She could not believe all the hard work the children and the volunteers put into the party and ...
